Premier Pre-Law Fraternity at the University of Massachusetts Amherst
KAPPA ALPHA PI
About Us
Kappa Alpha Pi was created on October 9th, 2007 at the University of Michigan. Our Fraternity was founded by a group of students formally associated with Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity International. Favoring the safety of members and a close-knit community, the group created KAPi in order to remain true to the integrity and desires of the membership.
The name was chosen due to its representation of what the Fraternity stands for. Kakouchia, which is represented by Kappa, represents the hardship of the Fraternity members experienced during the fall of 2007. Adelfotita, which is represented by Alpha, symbolizes our brotherhood. Finally, Proovedo, represented by the greek letter Pi, stands for the progress that the Fraternity will continue to make in years to come.
The purpose of this Fraternity is to foster knowledge of the law and government for undergraduate students; to provide service to the greater community and campus; to promote a strong sense of fraternalism among members; to uphold the ideals and integrity of Kappa Alpha Pi; so that members may advance their intellect while contributing actively to the well-being of others.
Our official Fraternity motto is:
“Honoring those who paved the path before us, steadfastly serving those around us, and making progress for those to come.”
We honor those who came before us. We are grateful to them, for they transformed an ordinary student group into the community we have today. We are now called to continue the strong tradition of being leaders on this campus through service to the community around us. Let us always go above and beyond the call of duty, opening our arms and ears to the needs of those less fortunate.
